Membership

Are you receiving Union mail?

Have you signed a Union membership authorization form?

If you answered no to either of the questions above, chances are you are a non-member. Under Article Three of the Connecticut Police & Fire Union Constitution and By-Laws, an active member is a current NP-5 bargaining unit employee who has signed and filed with the Union a membership authorization & dues deduction form. Only members shall have the right to run for office, vote on Union matters, be represented by an attorney at arbitration, gain access to a number of Union benefit programs, and receive protections granted by the Legal Defense Fund (if applicable to your job classification). Becoming a member also entitles you to receive the Union’s electronic mailings and access the member-only area of the Union’s website.

Also, for those members whose address information has changed within the last six months, please take the time to help CPFU update its membership database by using the address change form. This information is pertinent. It allows us to better serve you, the member, through notifications of upcoming events such as local meetings, as well as provide invaluable information regarding contract issues and grievances.

It is for these reasons that you are urged to print and fill out the membership form below and return it to the Union office: 50 Columbus Boulevard, 3rd Floor, Hartford, CT 06106. You may also sign up via the online membership form below. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your steward or the Union office.
