Since Hartford HealthCare took over Windham Community Memorial Hospital, our region has suffered a dramatic loss of access to quality patient care. At the same time, the chain’s executives have refused to recognize the bedside experience of local nurses and health professionals.
Join workers at Windham Hospital on June 6th for an informational picket as they fight for fair union contracts that prioritize safe patient limits at our community hospital:
ACTION: Informational Picketing for Fair Contracts at Windham Hospital
DATE/TIME: Monday, June 6 at 4:00 p.m. for rally & speakers (picket line will go from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. so come anytime you are available)
LOCATION: Outside of Windham Hospital, located at 112 Mansfield Avenue in Willimantic (plenty of free street parking available)
Health care workers in AFT have been in negotiations with hospital executives for six months and the chain has not offered any reasonable alternatives to mandatory overtime. This practice negatively affects patient outcomes and is unsafe for nurses and hospital staff.
We hope to see you on June 6th on the picket line outside Windham Hospital!
