Repost from SEBAC Tuesday, April 19, 2022
The Coalition would like to express its deepest sympathies to the family and colleagues of the late Undersecretary for Labor Relations, S. Fae Brown-Brewton, who passed away Monday night. While Fae could be a fierce and fearless advocate on the management side of the table, she believed, as Dr. King taught, that all work has dignity, and she treated all employees, union or management, with empathy and respect. She sought always to guide the State’s labor relations towards constructive interactions that served the interest of Connecticut’s residents in productive, inclusive, and efficient public services. Even when we disagreed, Fae approached her work with wisdom, wit, and a dangerous sense of humor that could pierce tensions that might otherwise have prevented resolution of important issues.
Rest in peace Fae Brown-Brewton. A life of honor and public service. A life well lived, and a job well done.
