On Friday, April 25, 2014 while playing in her backyard, 3-year old Kristen Fedor (daughter of DCP Liquor Control Casino Agent Rich Fedor) was struck by a falling tree from a neighbor’s yard. She sustained critical head trauma and was ultimately airlifted from her Voluntown home to the Hasbro Children’s Hospital, where she remained in critical condition for over a month.
Since that time, Kristen has undergone many surgeries and countless hours of physical and speech therapy. And while Kristen has made significant improvements, the road ahead for her and her family is still going to be a long one. It is for this reason that the Voluntown Community has organized a fundraiser to help ease some the Fedor family’s financial burden.
On January 17, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. The Voluntown Fire Department will be hosting a take out chicken dinner fundraiser. Tickets are $10 and are available for purchase at The Voluntown Baptist Church, St Thomas, St. Anne, Voluntown Elementary School, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. Advanced sales are preferred but tickets will be available at the door until Sold Out.
Anyone wishing to make a financial contribution to the family may do so by sending a check to the Voluntown Fire Dept. Please include a note that states “Contribution to Fedor Family”, make check out to “Voluntown Fire Department” and mail to:
